  • GA-EP45T-UD3LR Rev. 1-BSOD

Finally went to computer store next door $150 to fix memory dump. Guy worked on it for 2 days and said he had to used software to format HD. Similar to Max Blast (Floppy) but different for Seagate I'm sure.

Itv worked great all day then that night it kept getting BSOD. I tried reformat but got NTDLR missing. I believe its #6 file in boot up segment. Hit Escape and set priority for boot from drive to CD-disabled rest for boot. Not booting from CD best options? Need to know myself, first one in years not able to fix..

    Re: GA-EP45T-UD3LR Rev. 1-BSOD

I don't quite understand what the problem is.
Booting from HD or CD or both?
    Defective HD?
    Memory problems?

      Re: GA-EP45T-UD3LR Rev. 1-BSOD

Both Chike, after memory dump it corrupted again..Is there viruses that cause this? Extremly stable all day.
      Found this MS
Describes how to troubleshoot the "NTLDR Is Missing" error message.

Really beginning to wonder if the memory is not bad but incompatible (passed test on link you gave me)? Mobo issue B4 with it Memory Dumps-Might try more memory DDR2 maybe versus 3 of Kingston Value Ram. Not sold yet on DDR3 really much better with this platform..Heat Sink nice , some uses shield to hold in heat. I updated to F7 Bios I thought it was 5.

Then other computer P4 get a False Warning via Superantispyware that comes up red in start bar possibly 100 times and run false AV (ties memory up)..(Other computer) Cut right through Norton-time for Kaspersky (Can roll back-restore to previous set-up).

Very likely to be more memory issues.
Seems very common with the EP45T series.

        DRAM over voltage is prevalent..
timing issues, hard lockups. not to mention the serious pickyness of the IMC when running high density modules.

If it's memory problem they should be solved first, then reinstall OS and see what goes.
Download memtest86+ and create a bootable CD, run it 8+ passes (or untill it fails).
If there are errors there are settings you can try (those you have tried in the other thread).
You can download memtest86+ from http://forums.tweaktown.com/f69/late...30/#post284762

Please fill your forum signature with your system specs, board rev. BIOS vers, link to ram specs, hard drives etc.

              Re: GA-EP45T-UD3LR Rev. 1-BSOD

Are you running w2k pro? If yes, service pack 4?
I'm running w2k sp4 on both of my systems.

Occasionally, I would get a "file corrupted or missing" message after the boot screen while trying new overclock settings. Usually, it was the NTLDR file.
My files never had problems, the problem was that some bios settings "were slightly too extreme."
Nero how do you burn IMA file as ISO?
Most if not all CD/DVD burning software has an option to "burn ISO file to media." This works painlessly if the ISO file is a bootable image file.

To add a detailed hardware list to your forum signature, follow step #1 in this post.
This will make it much easier for us to help you.

                Re: GA-EP45T-UD3LR Rev. 1-BSOD

We can't help you unless you include your hardware list in your signature and you post your bios settings using the generic bios template.
We also need a direct link to the specifications for your memory, preferably to the manufacturer's website.

Follow steps 1 -4 in this post to give us the information we need.

It sounds like you don't have the correct bios settings for your hardware.

Before you start, save your current bios settings, using F11 from the main bios screen. Each saved bios should have a unique, meaningful name.

Suggested settings for initial 1066MHz memory speeds:

The following settings should be set after you have loaded Optimized settings:

                  Motherboard: Model: Rev#: Bios Version:
                  Cpu: Model
Ram: Brand, Model/Part#, Link to your ram's specs
Power Supply Unit: Brand, Model#, Wattage

note: replace all ?? with the value displayed in your bios.

                  1. Run Memtest86+ from a bootable floppy or cdrom for at least 6 full passes.
                  2. Boot into windows and run 10 loops of Intel BurnTest, using threads = 2 for your core2duo and the maximum amount of allowed memory. Use RealTemp or CoreTemp to monitor the cpu core temperatures. Temperatures as high as 60 - 80 C is ok for this test.
                  3. Run Prime95 Blend test for at least 8 - 12 hours, if an error occurs, note how long the test ran, note the error message and test size that failed. Stop the test if any errors occur.

Report in detail any errors or problems that occurred.
Post your bios settings and a screen-shot that includes all the programs in this post, step #4.

                  Have fun!! Doctor's orders.

This board's memory controller seems to have issues. 6 gigs seems to work fine, but 8 causes stability issues. I've been pounding my head against the wall for 3 months with it, and am resigning to run just 6 gigs.

If you think I might be able to help ya Spiral, let me know and post the settings you are trying with 8GB and I'll see if I can help you get it going.

Please do of course give full specs, and a link to your memory as well. If you do give settings, please use a template from my signature, thanks!
