Go into bios and check the temperatures. Try cleaning the internal parts with canned air. Especially the cpu heatsink and fan. Be sure the cpu fan is working properly. It is better if it is removed and cleaned. Be sure the cpu heatsink is tight against the cpu.

Yes that's probably it then. Test the memory with memtest86+ v4.0 If the memory has no errors then flash the bios back. Yes but don't hold us responsible if it fails. You should test the memory first as I stated in an earlier post. Here is a shortcut to the instructions print them or save them to another computer.:

Here is the Bios flash program:

                Code:

                BIOS Information

Each version of the System Program Service Diskette contains the
following system program (BIOS). The BIOS Version and the date can be
viewed by running ThinkPad Configurator from your operating system and
selecting the System Information button or by invoking the BIOS Setup

                 1. Make sure there is no diskette in the diskette drive, then turn
                    off the computer.
                 2. Turn on the computer.
                 3. While the "Press F1 for the BIOS Setup Utility" message is
displayed at the lower-left area of the screen, press the F1 key.
The BIOS Setup Utility menu will be displayed. If a password
prompt appears, type the correct password.
                 4. The BIOS version and date are displayed on the first screen of the
