  • GA-MA785GMT-UD2H - Disk I/O - Network I/O - System unresponsive

    Hi,

I'm actually an Intel user, but I figured: "give AMD a chance!"

I just bought myself an HTPC based on GA-MA785GMT-UD2H + AMD X2 235e + 4gigs of RAM. My 2.5" WD drive is running in AHCI mode. I also enabled all power savings options on the BIOS. OS is Win7 x64

Here is my problem: I noticed that Network I/O and Disk I/O slow down my system. It becomes almost unresponsive during network file copy with 100mpbs. Process Explorer from Sysinternals reveals high amount of DPCs (Deferred Procedure Calls), up to 30%!

Under workload the whole system feels like an Duron 750 rig. I wonder what's wrong since the system is not so bad at all, isn't it?

    regards
    OSJF

Have you tried a different NIC driver? What are your latencies like?
