  • Easytune6 + EX58-UD5 + Win 7 Pro (64 bit)

    Easytune6 installs OK.

When I try to run it, it does not run.

I have a very long error message (which I could post up in full).

    It begins:

Try to install AOD driver 1127-115024<4>
    AODDirver service has been removed..............

I've tried searhing this forum and Googling without any joy.

Does anyone know what this is referencing and what I need to do to get easytune6 to run properly?

I have the latest non-beta BIOS loaded.

    With thanks in advance.

    Re: Easytune6 + EX58-UD5 + Win 7 Pro (64 bit)

Having read through quite a few posts in this forum, it's pretty clear that there a a number of us who are experiencing the same problem.

Two posts that immediately spring to mind are:

    "EasyTune6 doesn't open" (staarted by ak427)
"EasyTune6 crashes during installation" (started by wims).

The second of the two posts starts off on a different subject, but is then highjacked to the EasyTune6 does not start issue.

I suspect that this problem is nothing to do with not working motherboards, incomplete Windows 7 installs or not the latest BIOS versions, etc, etc.

It's about EasyTune6's code and the implicit assumptions it makes. One or two of them may be invalid and the program is "bombing out".

I have an error log (which is a 10KB text document), which pinpoints which lines of code are producing the execution errors. The error log is a 10KB text document which is in the c:\Program Files (x86)\ET6\Logs\AODAPI\2009_12_01 folder of my PC. I've cut and pasted the contents into a Word document as the forum uploading feature did not let me upload a log file. It's now 31KB in size.

The way forward is for a GIGABYTE Technical Support person (is it still Janus Yeh??) to forward the error log to the technical owner of the EastTune6 code and for the code to be fixed.

Guys who are experiencing EasyTune6 not opening should not waste their time re-installing Windows 7, updating to the latest beta version of BIOS, RMAing their mobos, etc.

The Easytune6 code needs to be fixed and/or its installation environment needs to provide all the objects it needs to function correctly. That is the problem.

I hope one of the Senior Forum Moderators can forward this issue to GIGABYTE if one of their Technical Support people do not pick up this issue up directly.

    With thanks in advance.

PS - May I take this opportunity of wishing all Forum Users a Happy Christmas!

Hi - I am using the latest non-beta BIOS.

Have a look at the log that I uploaded.

The initial problem that makes easytune6 fall over is in the first two lines of the log:

            Re: Easytune6 + EX58-UD5 + Win 7 Pro (64 bit)

Just had another look around the net and another fuller look at the error log.

I reckon that the AOD driver that easytune6 is trying to install is to do with an AOD Overdrive Utility:

            AMD AOD Driver

I dismissed this at first because we have an Intel Core i7 CPU in the various mobos that are experiencing a similar problem.

However, have a look further into the log and you'll see that Easytune6 on my PC is wrestling with trying to access AMD gear! No wonder it's falling over.

For example, here are 3 lines at random pulled out of the log:

            <link rel="File-List" href="file:///F:/Users/Zbish/AppData/Local/Temp/msoclip1/01/clip_filelist.xml"><!--[if gte mso 9]><xml> <w:WordDocument> <w:View>Normal</w:View> <w:Zoom>0</w:Zoom> <w:DoNotOptimizeForBrowser/> </w:WordDocument> </xml><![endif]--><style> <!-- /* Style Definitions */ p.MsoNormal, li.MsoNormal, div.MsoNormal {mso-style-parent:""; margin:0cm; margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:12.0pt; font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-fareast-font-family:"Times New Roman";} @page Section1 {size:612.0pt 792.0pt; margin:72.0pt 90.0pt 72.0pt 90.0pt; mso-header-margin:36.0pt; mso-footer-margin:36.0pt; mso-paper-source:0;} div.Section1 {page:Section1;} --> </style><link rel="File-List" href="file:///F:/Users/Zbish/AppData/Local/Temp/msoclip1/01/clip_filelist.xml"><!--[if gte mso 9]><xml> <w:WordDocument> <w:View>Normal</w:View> <w:Zoom>0</w:Zoom> <w:DoNotOptimizeForBrowser/> </w:WordDocument> </xml><![endif]--><style> <!-- /* Style Definitions */ p.MsoNormal, li.MsoNormal, div.MsoNormal {mso-style-parent:""; margin:0cm; margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:12.0pt; font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-fareast-font-family:"Times New Roman";} @page Section1 {size:612.0pt 792.0pt; margin:72.0pt 90.0pt 72.0pt 90.0pt; mso-header-margin:36.0pt; mso-footer-margin:36.0pt; mso-paper-source:0;} div.Section1 {page:Section1;} --> </style> 1201-180559<4>: Created device AMD Family 11h Processor Internal Memory Controller.

Clearly, Easytune6 is written to work for all manner of Gigabyte mobos, but it should have a foolproof capability of determining its operating environment.

And in my case, and probably in the case of the other guys who are experiencing similar problems, Easytune6 is confusing itself about the environment it finds itself in and is running down an irrelevant branch of its logic and falling over.

Just one final point: both CPU-Z and Everest Ultimate are presenting my PC's configuration perfectly. So it's unlikely to be a .inf issue with chipset stuff.

            Hope that's clear and helpful.

Now, could some Gigabyte Technical Support guy have a look at the problem.

            With thanks, as ever.

                Re: Easytune6 + EX58-UD5 + Win 7 Pro (64 bit)

                ehm - gulp.

I never cease to be amazed.

I tried what you suggested (against my better judgement :) ) and I have a working version of Easytune6!

If anyone else is reading this and has had similar problems to me, try the Asia(China) source on this URL:

                GIGABYTE - Support&Download - Motherboard - Utility

The versions I have previously uploaded (on numerous occasions) have never worked. Maybe there's a QA issue here?!

                So thank you.

I've now had a chance to have a play, as you do.

I wanted to get hold of Easytune6, as I thought that it would provide quality HW monitoring.

My system is already OC'd, so no need for any of the other stuff.

First observation is that Easytune6 cannot be loaded and sit in the background. It interferes and produces judders in the sound of even the sample Wildlife HD movie in Windows Media Player in Win 7. That's not the case with CPU-Z or Core Temp or Everest. This 12GB rig is used for music production. It needs to be hush hush and the sound needs to be smooooooth.

Easytune6 doesn't pick up the speed of my 5th system fan which I've attached to the Power Fan Header. Mind you, neither do Everest or FanSpeed. I have a Cosmos 1000 case with 3 quiet Scythe fans (one at the bottom, sucking air in, and two at the top, sucking air out) and the inevitable Noctua NH-U12P quiet dual fan CPU cooler.

I think the "Danger...Danger..." default Wave file is rather cute when it comes into play when "alert setting" settings are crossed. LOL.

Without a doubt, though, Everest is the one to beat for system data and monitoring.

Final comments: Logs for Easytune6 still contain all the silly references to AMD architecture. I guess you would have seen that anyway. I though the logs were only produced as Easytune6 was falling over. The code must be rubbish.

Jeez.....God help the guy trying to maintain this piece of spaghetti coded nonsense. I'm quite surprised that it works at all based on what I can see it's doing via the log.

Anyway, Easytune6 aside, the EX58-UD5 is fantastic mobo that's provided me with a very solid rig that was very easy to OC.

I sincerely hope some of my comments will be of help someone else.

                Best wishes.

im glad you got it working, you can monitor 2 fans plus the cpu fan and psu fan if it has a mb connection, its good for looking at temps and voltages but i wouldnt overclock with it or use cia 2 as it will definatly freeze your pc,always do overclocking and tweaking in the bios

heres how ive set up my cpu fan if you want a rough guide,i dont like leaving it on auto but its up to you
