did u fuly un-istall the ati drivers first.then install new ones? also try updating chipset drivers from gigabyte website...what qpi voltages are you using? and ram voltages?

The existing drivers were removed prior to installing a new Driver.
Seems that there was a new chipset Driver, which I have installed.

Sorry to ask, but exactly how do I find these voltage values?
All I can see in BIOS is DRAM, which is 1.584 if it helps.

Edit: Tested after the new Chipset drivers were installed. Problems still persist.

if you look in easytune under tuner/advance/voltage one it will tell you your voltages...normally ram voltage is set to 1.66 in bios

QPI/Vtt is 1.1v
CPU Vcore 1.0125v

DRAM is 1.58v
DRAM Termination is 0.75v

PCH Core is 1.05v
CPU PLL is 1.8v

im asuming your at stock cpu clocks,so i would raise the qpi to 1.2000 and set ram to 1.66 voltage and see if its any better also whats your rams rated timings? it should tell you on the packaging that came with ram something like 7-7-7-24

The packaging that came with the RAM leaves much to be desired. Ebuyer (where I purchased it) doesn't really have any information other than latency timing is CL9.
Even the official Kingston website has nothing other than "The SPD is programmed to JEDEC standard latency 1333Mhz timing of 9-9-9 at 1.5V."

The mobo is a P55 US3L. This one here.

no the beta bios isnt for your board it only goes to f3,i would try those voltages first if it doesnt work set voltage back to 1.5

Just tried running Dawn of War 2 again with the altered voltages.

Unfortunately the outcome was the same.

are your ram timings on auto? try with 1.25000 qpi

Checked in BIOS. The settings were indeed set to Auto.

Set it up directly from there as specified and again tried Dawn of War. Crashed twice in this time period. Both times suddenly cutting to a black screen. Audio was still playing, but the machine had totally locked up.

I had to restart the machine.

have you tried installing latest dx9 or dx10? google dx10 and install it

On some system configurations changing desktop resolution may causes the OS
to stop responding when real-time protection is enabled in Microsoft Security
Essentials <-- from amd catalyst release notes,make sure you set the 3d refresh rate in catalyst control centre to same as desktop maybe it will solve it click display options in ccc and youll see it,try disabling real time protection in ms essentials if you can find it
