• GA-P55A-UD4 & i7 860 - stuck on OC

Hi All, I'm trying to tweak my brand new motherboard! I'm really liking it so far, but i'm a bit stuck on my OC.

Trying to keep all power-saving & turbo features enabled, and get the max stable OC possible. Its running at around 3.45ghz with std multiplier (x22) upto around 4ghz with only one thread(x26). If i raise the bclk one more (from 157 to 158) i get random freezes (eventho linx can do 20 passes). What can i try to get a bit higher? My goal is to reach about 165/170 bclk & 4.5ghz with max multiplier (x26) Temperatures are still really safe & around 70c on full linx load.

My setup;
Mobo... Gigabyte GA-P55A-UD4, bios F5
RAM... Kingston 4GB DDR2000 Cas 8 Kit (KHX2000C8D3T1K2/4GX)

to clock any higher youll need to come off cpu normal voltage and disable c1e and eist,what cpu volts are you using now?

+10 ^^^

To run 4+ GHz you are going to have to disable C1E and EIST for sure

Re: GA-P55A-UD4 & i7 860 - stuck on OC

I've been tinkering quite a bit and i've actually managed to get it a bit higher & stable.

I'm still running with EIST & C1E on, and its all good :)

BCLK is now 165, multi at 21x ofcourse. so default speed is at 22x = 3630mhz, going upto 4290 at 26x. Upped the voltage to normal + 1.000v (full load this gives around 1.39v on 1 thread, on 8 threads its 1.36), lowered the timings to 6-7-6-19, and temps with 20 linx runs are around 80 degrees. Other things changed; uncore at x36, VTT at 1.33v, DRAM at 1.64v.

Really loving this motherboard!
