Need Help Setting Bios for GA-EP45-UD3LR And Q9550

[P4ulus]

I'm Confused with my computer, I've Successfully install Win Xp Sp3 smoothly, but when i play some game, the computer suddenly freeze or shut down unexpectedly. Other than that For easy browsing and watch DVD is ok

I've tried many of prof jim Suggestion:
1. Flash the bios into Newest F7 ver
2. Clear The CMOS for about 10 Second
3. Run Optimized setting in bios and restart.
4. Change the Setting According To Prof JIM Suggestion

There is no Disabled for performance enhance, so please do be sure you let us know what you have this set to.

ProfJim did not suggest you manually set your memory multiplier? He should have, and I would imagine he did. But maybe not for some initial testing.

I suggest you set this manually to 3.20B. tRAS should be 15 not 5 as well, please check that you set 15

That alone may help you, if auto was choosing a different one. I can provide you a full list of suggested settings later if you like. I just have not because it sounded like ProfJim was already helping you.

I would suggest you start here, with the latest BIOS of course and after you have loaded optimized defaults (<<- no need to do that again if you have already and have not loaded fail safe since)

well i tried to run the PRIME95 with the current setting, and the system is stable enough for only about 18 minute, after that it suddenly restart.
the strange thing is the core CPU temp (at the time it shutdown) from CoreTemp32 log file is only about
Core 0 = 56' (LOAD 100%)
Core 1 = 49' (LOAD 100%)
Core 2 = 52' (LOAD 100%)
Core 3 = 52' (LOAD 100%)

I have pretty much the same setup except the board is different (UD3P).

I assume your running stock settings right? After looking at your boards manual I see some default settings I want you to confirm for us. The rest plaese confirm all settings you have between the questions marks as these are your defaults. Surely your VID default (vcore voltage) is not 1.3000V

Yes it's stock setting.
Yes the red colour is what it is stated at the optimized bios.

After looking at your boards manual I see some default settings I want you to confirm for us.
OK.
The rest please confirm all settings you have between the questions marks as these are your defaults.

Surely your VID default (vcore voltage) is not 1.3000V
is the number under the normal row is the default number. if it is, yes

There is nothing wrong with a vid of 1.3 (and that refers to your Q9550 voltage) it's just on the high end that's all. Some are low, med and high vid. Just a WAG but I've seen any there from like 1.22 to your 1.3, I have 1.25.

And this I assume is 900 mV and not 800 mV as the manual states as default.

Anyway here are a few suggestions for you to try on for size. Replace with whats after the <--

And this I assume is 900 mV and not 800 mV as the manual states as default.

For the PCI Express Clock Drive default from the computer is 800mV

Anyway here are a few suggestions for you to try on for size. Replace with whats after the <--

well thanks for the suggestion, I have already tried them, but the problem still remain the same, it's ok for easy browsing, office doc, but not for gaming.
it's stuck and freeze again. no blue screen, just freeze

Up CPU Reference on notch and test the try two notches up from .805. Do the same thing with MCH reference voltage. I neither of those seem to work up the CPU term one or two
notches and you can also try MCH Core up one or two notches.

The Problem remain the same as above

And the computer went nuts, it's keep rebooting, and when i've finally in the bios setting again, it mention about no compatible overclocking setting
