    Load optimized defaults, and save and apply/reboot back to the BIOS. Then set your ram voltage and change performance enhance to standard. That should get you started

      Ok I did all that- then uninstalled all the NVIDIA drivers, used cccleaner again to remove reg files. Put the 4890 in, used both 6pin plugs, made sure it was seated right, only had monitor and power running to the board, and it went straight into the post BIOS cycle. F&^K.

      I put the 9600 back in and it did the same thing. I had to clear the CMOS again, and It booted. went into BIOS and set it to Optimsed defaults, set voltage to 2.10 and left everything on auto. Did a sys restore to install all Nvidia drivers again, and Its back working fine.

      Is it the card ? I got it to load to desktop on another machine, but never really tested it out..

      Ideas please, this Sux having a new card and not being able to use it!

        1 important thing that you havn't supplied and no one has asked for yet is, what PSU are you using (make and model)?

            Might gives a whirl and see wot happens... Also use both sticks of memory. And last but not lease I assume you loaded optimized defaults, saved, applied and rebooted back into and set your bios up as you require and apply and save the below settings. Also would you mind putting your system specs in your signature?

            Code:
            CPU = Model E8500
            Motherboard = Model, Revision EP45-DS3 rev1.0

              Also zimm here is a good free registry cleaner you might consider trying out, it's called Eusing Free Registry Cleaner. Just goggle it and you'll find it.

                Try this and then put in the new card.

                Latest BIOS? Just checking in case no one asked yet

                Advanced Clock Control [Press Enter]
                CPU Clock Drive......................: 700 << 800
                PCI Express Clock Drive..............: 700 << 900 (Does your optimized defaults load 700/700? Just checking, if you are using fail safe please load optimized! If your BIOS defaults to 700/700 for optimized, than please try 800/900 anyway)

                MCH/ICH
                MCH Core...............1.100V........: 1.100 < Set 1.20-1.24 for 4GB

                ICH I/O................1.500V........: 1.500 << Set 1.55
                ICH Core...............1.100V........: 1.100 << Set 1.14-1.2
