  • New BIOS features on P55 boards

I am wondering what some changes do in the new BIOS for my P55-UD4P motherboard.

    1. Dynamic VCore - I assume this is for "fine tuning" the VTT but I don't have enough experience to know for sure and can't seem to find any information about it. What should I use this for on a mild OC (3.36Ghz) and a higher one (4.0Ghz)?

    2. Load Line calibration now is set to "AUTO" by default. It has always been enabled on all Gigabyte boards I have used. How does this behave in "Auto" mode? I normally enable it when OCing but what does "Auto" do? Is it disabled when on "Auto"?

There are more but these are two important ones I need to know if anyone can help. Thanks

    880GMA-UD2P - X6 1055T CPU - Patriot Inferno 120GB SSD - GSkill 1333 8-8-8-21 - 2 500GB WD Black

Re: New BIOS features on P55 boards

I did find this quote from a newegg review, not sure what it means though. i would like someone who knows their stuff to explain it to us.

"select the additional extra voltage which is required to reach stability from stock voltage" is the quote I found.

I think it's for some type of "fine tuning" The advanced OCers might think this is trivial but some of us would really like to know for sure how to use it.

The new "Auto" setting on the load line calibration is still stumping me. I guess I will have to do some tests to see what happens on each setting. I will post back here tomorrow with my findings.

auto loadline calibration, is as what it says if the cpu volts droop under high overclock/load load then it will kick in if not then it wont, id presume

If that's the case, why would they have "enabled" and "disabled" like always? If "auto" does it all, why have the other settings?

I think that auto just means Gigabyte's default value.
