  • EX58-UD5 compliant with DDR3 PC12800?

Hello, i have purchased this mobo and i am really happy with this choice.

On the main site, i have seen the mobo is ok with RAM 1333MHZ and then 2100+ (O/C?)

I have purchased too, 3X2Go ocz gold low voltage triple channel PC12800 CL8 (1600MHZ) and i am afraid this is not compliant with the specs shown for the mobo.

Do i have to change this RAM with PC10666? I see there and there people with PC12800 but is there a trick or bios mod to do?

    Thank you for the support.

it will be fine if you overclock your cpu just set the ram mutliplier to match the rams rated speed,i run 1800mhz with no problems and it will support 2000mhz+ so you should be fine

No you do not need to OC your CPU to get ur ram running at rated speed. Changing the memory multiplier from auto to 12x (12 x 133 blck) will give you 1600mhz (1596) close as you'll get . You may need to however up your QPI voltage to maybe around 1.3 . Maybe more, maybe less. You will need to also increase RAM voltage to 1.66. Do not leave the QPI on stock(1.15) as this will break the rule of having .5v between your qpi and ram voltage. That could cause damage. So dont forget!
