Is that the GIGABYTE SATA controller? Do you use it at all?

      Not sure what you mean.

I have three drives (2 HDD and a CDROM). Not using RAID. All three drives are plugged into sata sockets on mobo. See system spec below.

Re: Where can I get GBB36X for my Gigabyte Mobo?

If you are looking for the IDE drivers they are included in Windows 7.
        For the RAID or ACHI:

You can get the driver here
It is the GIGABYTE SATA2 RAID Driver

        http://www.gigabyte.com.tw/Support/Motherboard/Driver_Model.aspx?ProductID=2551&ost=others#anchor _os

It is really a JMicron JMB36X. You can get Windows 7 drivers here as well:

        Driver
        Gigabyte GA-X79-UD5 v1.0 @ F13s
        Intel Xeon E5-2670
        Intel BXRTS2011LC Liquid-cooled LGA 2011
        64GB (8x8GB) Quad Channel G-Skill Ripjaws Z series DDR3 2133
        EVGA GTX 950 FTW 2GB
        Thermaltake Armor+
Samsung 850 EVO 250 GB SSD
        1 x 2TB WD 2002FAEX SATA
        4 x 2TB WD 20EFRX SATA
        7 x 3TB WD 30EFRX SATA
        Seasonic X-1050 Power Supply
        ASUS RT-AC68U router
        Windows 7 Ultimate x64 SP1
        Windows 8.1 Pro x64

          Thanks pbcopter,

          That's just brilliant..

          Many thanks.

          Jessica

P.s. These drivers are for installing from a floppy disc. I don't have a floppy drive. Will they install from a USB memory stick?

Yes you can use a USB memory stick with Windows 7, however if you don't use the Gigabyte/JMicron contoller for your operating system, you can install them from within Windows.

You probably better not installing them at all.
Do you have anything pluged to the purple ports?

No, I have nothing pluged to the purple ports. Does that mean I don't need these drivers at all?

Re: Where can I get GBB36X for my Gigabyte Mobo?

The driver is only needed when using the purple ports for RAID or r in ACHI mode, otherwise the standard IDE channel driver should be fine.
