  • GA-EP45-UD3L Issues, Please help!

OK, Ill start from the beginning so you all know the computers 6 month life. I started by getting the mobo and the memory, everything was working great for a month, no issues and then out of no were I got a blue screens, random different ones, so I ran memtest and it said the memory was bad, so I tested both sticks individually and they passed. So I decided to replace everything, new video card, case, psu, HDD, So everything is brand new. So when I replaced everything I still getting the same syptoms, random blue screening and also when it does blue screen and I try to power it off it power cycles, over and over and over til I pull the plug and wait a few mins to power it back on. So I just when out and replaced the mobo and memory again because reading on newegg reviews and I saw some people who were having this power cycling issue. So got the new mobo in and not more then 12 hours in, blue screened 0x1E. I updated all drivers, chipset, sound, e-net, video card. I also tryed to update the bios with the program that comes with the mobo and only will go to F4, I try to download F5 or F7 from the site and tell me because I have a 64bit OS it said it wouldnt work. I have PC-Doctor its a great diag program, I ran that and on the video card it says it cant run the "Non-local video memory test" and on the memory its failling on modular20 test and one other test im not sure of off the top of my head because im at work, I went into the mobo settings and changed the voltage to the right voltage of the memory and still having issues, its wierd because its random blue screens, I can play Age of Conan for hours and then just leave the computer on over night and wake up to a blue screen, i mean i can get a blue screen as simple as going to google, sad huh? I know there is no virus because Iv reformatted many times, I do want to add I have vista ultimate 64x, So does anyone have any suggestions, I dont know if I can take this any longer, I sed to work on computers and this is the only computer, lol my own that iv had this many problems with. If you need more info please please let me know anything you need and ill get that info, i need this to get fixed before i office space 2 grand :) Thanks everyone

    Re: GA-EP45-UD3L Issues, Please help!

    Have your ran memtest86+ again?
Memory configuration with more than 2x1GB usually need some tweaking to get them stable.
First thing to do is load optimized defaults, save and reboot, enter BIOS MIT again, and set Performance Enhance to standard.
Usually more MCH Core is needed for larger memory configurations, try in steps 1.2-1.26v(not sure if the board has thses steps.) If more MCH Core does not help, try less, 1.05-0.95v.
Check PC health Status, if memory Voltage is set too high, set it a bit lower manually.
Run 6+ memtest86+ passes before booting into windows, memory problems may lead to corrupted files or file system.

Ok heres what ill do, ill change those settings and run memtest after I change everything, if it doesnt work ill post back, thanks for the suggestions, I hope your on at 12am EST :) But I see you have corsair memory just lower bus speed then what i have, did you have to go high or low? and would this cause random blue screening?

        Re: GA-EP45-UD3L Issues, Please help!

I have the XMS2 not dominator, DDR-800 is their rated speed with CL4.
This is another option to try if you can't get memory stable at DDR-1066, than try DDR-800 with possible lower latency. At stock FSB it wouldn't make no difference.
Another option to explorer, would be to OC the FSB to 333MHz with CPU Ratio 8, which will result at the same CPU speed and might be easier to stabilize DDR-1066 and better memory performance.

Please report back either success or failure, with the settings that have been used, and a screen capture of MemSet main(click >>) and spd(click spd) windows.
Memset can be found in http://forums.tweaktown.com/f69/late...30/#post284762

Since you have problems it may be a good idea, even though memory compatibility fixes are not listed they may have been applied, and F7 is final so I'd say F7.
Read http://forums.tweaktown.com/f69/bios...h-guide-27576/ before flashin the new BIOS.

I have the rev-(1.1) mobo... Will the (1.0) bios work? Because i dont see 1.1 drivers or bios, and also do i need to start at f5 then f7 or just stright to f7?

Hmmm I don't see rev 1.1 on GB site at all, nor in the BIOS update sticky in the forum.
Better be safe than sorry. ait for a higher authority than me to tell you.

Tried doing the 1st thing you said by changing the voltage and the mch core up and down one .1 and didnt make a difference... memtest failed a minute in a half on the Moving Inversions, 8 bit patterns.... dont know if that means anything but going to try the next thing

For the UD3P there si one BIOS for rev 1.0 and 1.1 and another for rev, 1.6, so it may be, just wait to the one who knows to comment about it.

no but actully so far changing the FSB and CPU clock is working.... 28% into memtest and no failing... so lets hope this is it :)
