Anybody have any "quick fixes" to make this motherboard stable? It will boot if I clear the cmos but if I try to change any setting in the bios it will not boot.

This post has recommended basic bios suggestions for a system that runs at stock settings.
For us to help you, we need specific information about your hardware setup.
Follow suggestions in the post for adding your hardware list to your forum signature and post your current bios settings using the bios template that is linked to in the post. Provide the recommended screen shot and include a link to the full specifications for your memory.

            Re: ep 45 extreme T

Let me start off by writing that this is the fifth gigabyte board I have purchased for a system build. I have really liked the first four. The Gigabyte EP-45T Extreme is an extreme failure of design. It sometimes will not boot with fail-safe defaults loaded and certainly will not load with optimized defaults loaded. The processor and ram are from the QVL. I understand the fact that this is an enthusist board but it does not give Gigabyte the right to sell a piece of equipment without stating the fact that it may not work at all. I love overclocking and pushing components as far as they will function but I have not been able to overclock at all. If I load fail safe defaults and happen to boot my 3GHZ processor will run at 2.66GHZ. Then I go into the bios and change anything it will not boot. By that I mean I change the display setting from PCI to PEG and it will not boot. I didnt change anything else. THIS BOARD IS CRAP!!!

For this I'd say clear CMOS as described in the second part of this post. Don't make shortcuts, take the long way, and if it doesn't help try an overnight clear.

I'm glad you let ot all out :-) now lets try to work it out, if you want to that is.
              What BIOS vers. you have?
Please fill your forum sugnature with your system specsm including board rev. BIOS vers. and a link to memory specs or at least memory part number.
