make sure youve seated your cpu heatsink correctly, also ram should be in the white slots....and try clearing cmos at the rear power down pc and press it and try reboot....im betting its ur cooler not fitted correctly causing cpu to get hot and automatic shutdown re-boot loop...but try all ive suggested n write back

      Thanks for the quick reply, <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p>
      <o:p></o:p>

      <o:p></o:p>
I will try to remove the heatsink and re-install it again. Its very "solid" right now and I used MX-3 Thermo paste. <o:p></o:p>
      <o:p></o:p>
Do you think the cpu overheats in a split second and shuts down?<o:p></o:p>
      <o:p></o:p>
The ram is currently back in the white slots. Its also rated at 1.65V (I think), I dont know if that should be an issue.<o:p></o:p>
      <o:p></o:p>
      Cheers, <o:p></o:p>

Re: X580-UD5 wont boot!! C1 error

its best to try re-seating it just to eliminate it,and your ram was it in the blue slots before? ifso it wont boot you MUST have it in the white slots, and yes its been known to shut down if cpu gets hot due to incorrect heatsink fitment...they can be a pain to fit and only one push-pin if its not fully clicked down will cause overheating if its got a backplate and screw down type its easier to fit,you can set all youre ram volts later when its running it will all be fine on auto

Re: X580-UD5 wont boot!! C1 error

I originally had the ram in the blue slots and had the same boot issue. Then I switched to the white slots and its exactly the same. Then I tried each slot, both colors, with all three modules.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p>
          <o:p></o:p>
I tried to clear the CMOS, is there a special procedure for that? Just hold it down while the computer is on? or hold it while turning on?<o:p></o:p>
          <o:p></o:p>
I will take it apart tonight and try from scratch.<o:p></o:p>

keep it in the white slots for it to work, and just power off pc at the front panel and press the cmos botton, dont switch off at the wall, it should still be lit up blue when u press it just turn pc off at the front of pc

I took everything apart, re-installed the processor, cooler, new thermo paste and still the same error. C1 and b2. There are no bend pins, ram is in the white slots. In dont know what else to try.

ok did u try clearing cmos? also theres two pins sticking up on mb near the battery power down ur pc and touch the two pins with screwdriver to clear cmos that way, also try just installing one stick of ram and see if it boots

Re: X58-UD5 wont boot!! C1 error

Cleared the CMOS using the button at the back, tried by touching the two pins with a screw driver, installed on stick of ram in DDR3_1 white slot, wont boot. C1, 6F, b2. LEDs keep jumping between those.

Might be time to call it quite and RMA the board.

ive looked on google and c1h is memory check code so if its displaying c1e...im assuming the "E"means error meaning a ram error heres the link to the manual its for a ud5 but there the same board apart from the watercooled northbridge

I ran out and got Patriot Viper PC3-10666 1333Mhz 6Gb kit and it booted right away. Looks like the board does not like the Mushkin kit which is a shame as it is a very fast out of the box kit. The Viper...not so much but at least it works.

Looks like I have to send the Mushkins back.

Thanks again for all of your help and I hope this thread helps others as well.
