you might have problems with some software working on windows7 if its just designed for xp,i have a few,some you can right click and run in xp mode but some that have no updates or newer versions simply wont work,thats why i run two operating systems,xp is still a great os,win7 is just more polished

That's my next task......figure out how to run dual boot so that I can load up XP if needed. I'll be running a 340GB 7200 Sata2 drive as my system drive with a couple of 1T in RAID so there'll be plenty of space for OS.

I'm gonna start googling that now, but if you've got any tips wazza, that'd be great.

thers plenty of software freeware and paid to make a partition,just split your hdd into two 170gb partitions,(you can get it from that site i mentioned) acronis true image is good software,then install xp first and win7 last,then it shouldd at start up ask you which partition or os you want to boot into,or press f12 and select which partition/os you want to boot up into,remember to download/save your raid drivers on floppy or bootable usb stick for xp when installing,no need to do that for win7 and that should be it

just name the partitions winxp win7 ect so you know which is which at start/boot up

EDIT: btw i have no idea about raid partitions but i think you will need to do the same for your raid array,split it between two os's,maybe someone with more knowhow can advise on that,i dont use raid so cant comment
