  • GA-EX58-UD4P/Corei7-920/12GB RAM - Base settings?

First build in 7+ years and everything ran perfectly when I hit the power - yay!

Little lost on what the BIOS settings should be though to optimize. Note that I'm not interested in overclocking at this point, but will as I get the hang of things.

So...is it possible to get a listing of what settings I should have in my BIOS in the same format as Lsdmeasap made in this post? I found this to be extremely handy!

    My system is:

    GA-EX58-UD4P
    Core i7-920
    12GB Patriot RAM (7-7-7-20) @ 1333MHz
    BFG GTX285 @ 666MHz
Western Digital Caviar Black - 1TB
    Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit

    Thanks for any help.

Unless you are looking to overclock, I would leave it alone. You are not going to get any noticeable improvements I think. As long as all your memory is recognized, you are good to go :)

its more difficult to run faster ram speed and tight timings with 12gb also, you will be able to overclock tho

Do you want to leave things as they, are now clock wise I mean? If so, let me know and I can give you a full set of suggested settings like you wanted.

Whatever the 'factory settings' should be i.e., not over clocked. I can work on that once I have a better understanding.

            Thanks again!

K, thanks. This is what I suggest for stock, I have C1E and EIST disabled here so your CPU will run at full speed, you can enable them if you would like speedstep to clock things down at idle

BSOD Error codes and what they mean:
0X00000050 << Incorrect Memory Timing/Freq or Uncore Multi
