  • How do I get to the audio coming into the CD_IN header?

I've attached my CDROM drive to the CD_IN header using the correct cable.

So, how do I get to the audio coming from the CDROM drive?

Control Panel --> System --> Device Manager --> DVD/CD ROM Drives --> double click on your cdrom drive
    Click on the Properties Tab
See if the box next to "Enable digital CD audio for this CD-ROM device" has a check mark.
Mine does, but I don't have the cable to connect the cdrom to my mobo.

Hope this helps, if not, let us know.

CD_IN which is an analog input, a thing of the past realy
In Media Player you can choose digital or analog playback for the CD. In audio volum control the CD volume must be eabled to play from the analog input.

Re: How do I get to the audio coming into the CD_IN header?

Thank you both for the help. It was just the right information when combined.

I am using Windows XP Pro SP3 and after some trial and error, here is what I think I discovered:
        1. Turn off Enable Digital CD option for the CDROM in Control Panel>System>Hardware>Device Manager>DVD/CD ROM Drives
        2. In Windows Media Player, select Analog Playback using Tools>Options>Devices>Playback>Audio CD
        3. Clear the Windows Media Player cache using Tools>Options>Privacy
        4. Reboot the computer

I was able to get the Analog Audio from the CD_IN header after I did those steps. (It was louder and seemed clearer than the Digital version.)

        Thanks again.
