Re: case open detection for gigabyte ga-ma785gpm-ud2h

Your case open switch, or actually (your chassis intrusion detection device) must be hooked to the chassis intrusion header or ci header. The ci header is located at the top front of your motherboard. Look on page 23 of your manual. Pin number 18. You will need to go into bios and reset the feature.
It's in bios under PC health status. The manual only mentions this: Reset Case Open Status
Keeps or clears the record of previous chassis intrusion status. Enabled clears the record of previous chassis intrusion status and the Case Opened field will show "No" at next boot. (Default: Disabled) Case Opened
Displays the detection status of the chassis intrusion detection device attached to the motherboard CI header. If the system chassis cover is removed, this field will show "Yes", otherwise it will show "No". To clear the chassis intrusion status record, set Reset Case Open Status to Enabled, save the settings to the CMOS, and then restart your system.
Configuring it would depend on the chassis intrusion detection device you plan on using.
