  • Ep45-ds5 8 gb twin2x4096-6400c5c

    Hi!

I ran into alot problems since installed another 2x2GB memory and really need help for settings to make it stable for 8GB setup.

I have all settings to AUTO and NO OC. Just want test it out for stabil run.

    Mainboard: Gigabyte EP45-DS5
    CPU: Intel Q9450
    Memory:TWIN2X4096-6400C5C 2x2GB + 2x2GB

Corsair recommended to run it slower at 667 Mhz, but Im confused about how to set it run at 667 Mhz at Memory settings and Im stucked at:

    (G)MCH Frequency Latch options are:
    200mhz
    266mhz
    333mhz
    400mhz

    System memory multiplier options are:
    2.00B
    2.40B
    3.20B
    4.00B

    2.00D
    2.66D
    3.33D

    2.66C
    3.33C
    4.00C

    2.50A
    3.00A
    4.00A

MCH Voltage: Auto - 1.1v (raise it when needs)
DRAM Voltage: AUTO - 1.9v (raise it when needs)

Im totaly noob when it comes top BIOS settings and really need help for this board and 8GB meory setup.

    thx!

do both kits have the same part number or at least timings/voltage specs?
Please use the template in this post or the one below it to post your current settings.

Filling your signature with your system specs including a link to memory specs board rev., BIOS vers, etc. would also be helpful.

The 4GB kits have different versions now v.4.3/v.2.5, it was same versions 4.3 before, but one of the kits got faulty after a week and got new kits from RMA.

Yes, it worked for a week and then I got alot BSOD. When see at event viewer, there are alot of errors with program crash and found out that one of the 4GB kits was faulty when ran memtest86+.

Does memtest86+ fail if you run it or is it just BSODs/programs crashes?

You can try increasing MCH Core, usually 1.2-1.26v is needed for more than 1x2GB of memory, you might need even more, try uo to 1.28v. Too much is not good either, so do it in graduately, one increment at a time and test.
Sometimes less MCH Core is neede, if more doesn't help try 1.05-0.95v.

EDIT: Run memtest86+ and then you can run Prime95 blend test or customized large FFT not in-place.

Mixing versions is not good, especially with such a large amount. They use different chips, that is why the versions differ. I do suggest you get matched ram for the best outcome and less headaches. You may need to RMA all the others so they match the new memory

Try these settings, but again you may never get stable due to mis-matched versions of memory
