Hi,
I had my e8400 overclocked to 3.60 ghz by simply changing the CPU Host Clock control on my gigabyte ep45-ds4p. However, i had to replace the motherbaord and ram because of a brown out. Now my new ds4p and ram will not overclock at all. Instead as soon as anything is changed the bios restarts and resets to a safe default.
After hours spent looking on the message boards for ideas I have tried:
bios f3, f5, f8
setting the voltage of the cpu to 1.25
putting the ram in different slots (dual and single channel)
in regards to my ballistix tracer red ddr2 800mhz ram i have
-manually lowered the timings to 5,5,5,18 from cas 4
-set the voltage to 2.0
My system specs are
Gigabyte ep45-ds4p motherboard
intel e8400 core 2 duo
Western Digital 500 gig black edition hard drive (with operating sytem)
Samsung 750 gig hard drive
Radeon 4870 (sonic dual edition)
If anyone has any ideas on how to solve this your suggestions are more than welcome!
