This works for me at 4ghz with the memory at 1600. I ran it fine for an hour on OCCT with core temps just touching the 80c mark on average on 100% load. The idle core temps are about 46c average. I would like to know if this overclock and temps are safe? And is there any tweaking I can do to lower the temps? Thank you

Re: Please check this overclock for me.

Well...... The most important setting per your question you left out of your settings.

Vcore is missing, that would be key in lowering temps. And yes 80C is outside of the comfort zone and would likely be 90-100C If you ran Intel Burn Test, so please do not.

Settings look ok though, you may just need less Vcore or a better cooler

I am unable to wake from sleep mode with these settings. Any idea how to fix this?

Re: Please check this overclock for me.

Well sounds like you need a better cooler then, I was expecting to hear 1.34-1.38+ for those temps. You sure it is fully and properly secure and that you did not use to much paste? Just wondering, you never mentioned the cooler so I am not sure what you have.

For S3 issues you will have to update to the latest BIOS to be able to resume from S3

its a thermalright 120 extreme. Maybe I did use too much paste. I put a coat of ocz silver on both cpu and back of heatsink. I also lapped the heatsink.

Ahh well temps should not be that high with a TRUE

Are you using the penny or washer mod to it? Maybe you need to?

Only a small bad of paste in the middle of the CPU is needed, sounds like you did maybe use too much?

I am using a TRUe with similar settings and without the penny mod and temps are nowhere near that high. Lapping the cooler may have been a mistake, I believe there is a reason for it's banana shape.

How powerful is the fan you have on the heatsink? How well ventilated is your case? Is there plenty of airflow?

I have one on a dualcore, so comparison not very relevant, but my 43cfm fan isn't really quite good enough, as I'm getting temps in 60's during prime blend..

im running the stock fan that came with the true 120 extreme. I have a atcs840 coolermaster and it does have good airflow. I also added two fans to it.

Ya, if you are going to lap your cooler you have to either be sure your CPU is flat or lap both your cpu and cooler otherwise you are going to make things worse
