As for the lower bench scores after enabled LLC, how much of a lower score are you getting? If it's a few hundred, that is normal scoring.
Must be normal scoring then. Seeing voltage in CPU-Z way different than in BIOS tho'. Doesn't LLC take care of that? I had it disabled........

Re: Overclocking the Gigabyte X58 UD4P

Optimized default does NOT Kill your RAID, and is suggested for sure!!! You can't start with or overclock using Fail Safe settings as many hidden settings will be incorrect and several visible ones as well.

When you load optimized defaults, save and apply and reboot BACK TO THE BIOS. DO NOT LOAD WINDOWS. Sorry for the caps, but this is the issue and what makes you think optimized kills your array. Once you reboot back to the BIOS go back into the Integrated Peripherals page and set RAID Again, then reboot BACK TO THE BIOS and go into the advanced BIOS pages and into Hard Disk Boot Priority and move your array to the top of the boot order.

Then your array will be fine, as long as you follow those steps any time you flash the BIOS or load optimized you must do that, in that order. Tips similar to all of that for loading optimized and or flashing your BIOS with a RAID Array are posted here >>>

I do suggest you update to the latest BIOS F10a >>>

Then I do advise you do not use the 2.0V rated memory, sure you can but it is not suggested as it was not made for X58. If you use it, you have to set the ram voltage to 1.9-20V and be sure the QPI/Vtt voltage remains within .5 of that which would be 1.5V QPI/Vtt for 2.0V ram voltage. Now you see why it is not best

LLC Does not affect benchmarks, this must have just been general benchmark variances that you would have anytime you run a benchmark between different bootups or time periods. LLC Will make your CPU Voltage stay closer to the Idle voltage shown in CPU-z when under full load. This does not affect the difference between the BIOS setting and what you get at idle (Vdrop), only between idle and load (Vdroop).

tRFC of 45 is WAY to low for triple channel at 1600Mhz. I suggest you use 74-84 or above for this setting, otherwise you will fail memory tests.

If you need full suggested settings from us, please load optimized defaults and start over again. Then give us your settings that fail and advise which ram you are using and we can advise back

Bad storms in the area, I'll have to do Optimized Defaults later......perhaps tomorrow night, full day tomorrow.

Got a link from Stasio. What's the best overall method to flash, Qflash w/USB drive or Floppy??? Also I had downloaded it before, but according to the guide, the downloaded file consists of 3 files, when extracting them I only get 2 files???

Re: Overclocking the Gigabyte X58 UD4P

Sounds like you got it right? Looks good, if you need more help feel free to ask

I see you put N/A for the following settings:
              tWTP .......................................N/A
              tWL ........................................ N/A

Why? What BIOS did you use previously, and did you load optimized after the flash and apply? Did you clear the DMI Data with Qflash, you should.

I ask because your BIOS should have these settings, I put in a lot of time, effort, and testing to get them added in which is why it caught my eye that you had N/A listed for them. They are indeed in your BIOS, and in that version. I am using F9c myself, but just flashed to F10a to verify and then back to F9c because I need to finish up a review with that BIOS. So you should have these settings, if you do not then you are likely coming from an older (Pre F7d) BIOS that did not have them and you need to follow the above steps so you will have them.

Ooops! Flashed BIOS didn't I ?? I'll correct that when I get back on Monday....

Ahh, ok! No worries for you anyhow, I was just personally concerned as I had not flashed F10a yet and it got me worried for a minute, thought they removed those settings again!

I was about to get angry possibly.

They are there though, but most dont set advanced timings anyway.

Well, I'm back and just taking a cruise through BIOS and those settings are there, tWTP is Auto =19 and tWL is Auto = 7.

Now can you take me higher than these settings? BIOS shows 4.0Ghz but CPU-Z in Windows says 4.2Ghz....

                    Didn't list Channel/s B and C but I will set the same...

And another question, I know I flashed to F10a and all was good. Followed instructions about loading Optimized Defaults and rebooting to reset my RAID. Left for a few days. This morning on startup I noticed the BIOS on POST screen is F8 why would it revert??

Did it possibly reboot/reset, and use the other bios chip???

Reckon that's possible. How do I convert the other chip to F10a?? Read the manual??

Don't even look on the left in the BIOS, it is irrelevant and incorrect

Your BIOS recovered from the backup chip because your settings failed badly and corrupted the Main chip.

You had 4.2 in windows due to Turbo being enabled.

So have you flashed back to F10a yet? If not please do so and try these changes this time after your normal flash procedures

Oh, another question. Is there a way to save these settings to BIOS/CMOS? F11 or something???

Now on to 4.4Ghz and up.......

Hmm, that is odd! No 1.38? Funny to hear, I have a few CPU's here and they all have different voltage amounts available for certain settings and 1.39 QPI is not in any of them. 965 I have offers many small increments on QPI and others, the 920 and W3520 I have here only have even QPI amounts.

Ya, On the MAIN Page F11 is save and F12 is load. Be sure when you are saving that you move down and don't overwrite a previous save you want to keep

Yeah, it goes from 1.375v to 1.395 actually.....it's as 920 D0 stepping if that matters....maybe just the board or BIOS....
