  • GA-MA790XT-UD4P @ 1600mhz

    Hi,

I was wondering if any1 has managed to get there memory working at the rated 1600mhz. Im not sure if there is an issue with OCZ memory and this motherboard but after searching many forum posts I have still not found any1 that has managed to post stable at 1600mhz.

Im not sure if this is an issue with the memory or the motherboard but the memory seems to run fine at the below timings (6-6-6-24 1t @1333mhz).

Im hoping that this maybe just a compatiabilty issue and maybe addressed with a bios update but was wondering if any1 had any idea's?

    Many thanks for reading :)

    Re: GA-MA790XT-UD4P @ 1600mhz

    Hi,
I've not got OCZ Ram, but I do have Corsair RAM (C9DHX) running in my rig at 1600Mhz.
I've also put OCZ RAM into a friends PC which was this motherboard and the Phenom II 550 BE - that also ran at 1600Mhz. I think it was the same ram (the OCZ Animal Range for AM3).

Are you running on the latest BIOS version.

        Hi,

Here's my settings for a Phenom II 955BE running on the GA-MA790XT-UD4P (The Ram is running tight timings at 1600Mhz, and the NB/HT is at 2600Mhz. No O/C on the CPU) :

          Re: GA-MA790XT-UD4P @ 1600mhz

          Hi Gunnar :)

Thanks for posting your timings, I am now running the bios F4I to see if that will allow me to run stable at 1600mhz, this bios version was only released very recently. Im not sure if it makes any difference but I am currently running the RAM in the slots nearest the cpu so mite also have to try seating the RAM into the other slots.

Many thanks for your time thou and I will do some testing ASAP and post back the results,

          Many thanks :)

            Re: GA-MA790XT-UD4P @ 1600mhz

I'm also having the same problem with the same Ram but with the Gigabyte MA790FXT-UD5P, I'll try the settings as above & report back also.

I've got 2 sticks of some older OCZ PC3-1333C7 Platinums 1.8v that work fine with the board at spec.

              Re: GA-MA790XT-UD4P @ 1600mhz

              Hi Folks,

No joy for me still at 1600mhz with the new bios (F4I), back to the old timmings of 1333mhz @ 6-6-6-20 1t.

Fingers crossed the next bios will support OCZ memory, I find it incredible that a company like Gigabyte only has 1 set of OCZ ram on its memory compatiability listing.

              Kind regards,
