  • GA-EP45-UD3R : Crashes on Windows install

I just built this system and it had an issue with an infinite boot loop but i fixed it by resenting the CPU.

After I was able to get it to boot I set my two HDD to raid 0 and try to install xp, after copying over the files it gives me a BSOD. (
    STOP: Ox0000007B )

I tried to install win7 which takes forever (5-10 mins) to just get into the first screen to choose what install you want and to click next, after choosing to install it says "setup is starting..." and takes another 5-10 mins.

When it starts to expand the files and it got around 60% it crashes and gives me a BSOD.

    Motherboard : GA-EP45-UD3R
    Ram : corsair twin2x4096-8500c5
    CPU : core 2 quad Q9550
    HDD :2x Segate 500GB
    Video Card : Radeon HD4870
    PSU :coolmaster RS-700-AMBA-D3 700w

The psu does not have power for the floppy I have so i can not use F6 drivers

update : Turned off the raid-0 and it let me install XP

I want to be able to run in a Raid-0 though, so anyone who has any suggestions how to get it to work would be wonderful.

Slipstream a new XP install disc too include the F6 drivers you need, just google and you'll find everything you need to make your new install disc. Good Luck

You can simply use a cheapo flash usb drive to load the new bios. It was extremely easy. You could even load it on a burnable cdr but its a rather big waste of a cdr.

            hope that helps.

Re: GA-EP45-UD3R : Crashes on Windows install

If windows 7 install is taking forever you may need to disable Floppy in the BIOS since you are not using it.

If you need more help getting RAID going let us know

                    Nice to see!

Ya, I am not sure why that happens but I noticed it with Window 7 and Vista, especially if no floppy is installed and connected. Sometimes it does not matter, but it is more of an issue if enabled and no floppy is found as I think the install is searching for it
