  • EP43-UD3L cpu multiplier stuck to 6 instead of 8.5

Just build a new system with ep43-ud3l board
    intel Q9550 (8.5 multiplier)
    Vista ultimate 64Bit
Updated bios to the latest using @bios(I know now it was a mistake)
Everything is set to auto in bios and multiplier is at 8.5 in bios
But cpu-z,everest,occt, shows multiplier at 6x with cpu running at 2000mhz
    instead of 2830mhz.
What should I do now ,is the board defective

    Thanks for your patience.

    Found the problem:I disabled cpu-(C1E,EIST)

The CPU mulriplier changes according to needs (load), at idle it drops to the lowest possible multiplier.
It should go up under load.

Just did a test run with OCCT for 5 minutes it stays at 6x with 4 cores at around 98%.

Did you load optimized defalts after the update?
I have updated mine with @bios too (if it doesn't wotk it shouldn't be on the disk LOL) and it seems to worrk fine.
