That means you need more QPI/Vtt

I upped the dvid to +0.0875 and it Primed 1hr stable. I just lowered it back to +0.0750 and upped the QPI/VTT to 1.32, I will try these settings.
Thanks again for everyone's help, it has made a big difference in lowering my settings and the core temps of my chip.

EDIT: It crashed in less than a minute with a "03B" code. Does anyone have a list of all the codes and their meanings?

        Re: GA-EX58-UD4P Settings Question

i dont know what that code is,if it ran for 1hr with +0.0875 then it seems it was cpu voltage not enough, you could try and re-test with dvid +0.0750 and qpi/vtt of 1.34000v it still could be not enough qpi

maybe lower qpi/vtt back to 1.3000v and use what you did before for dvid+0.0875,i think it just needed more cpu voltage
i dont know what ofc code means

              Re: GA-EX58-UD4P Settings Question

I just lowered them back and now retesting. At load (HT on, all cores @100% load) the vcore in CPUZ is 1.20v, can't complain about that.
This is a dedicated "Cruncher" so it will not see idle time while running so no "C1E" state. It is testing now Prime 95 again to see if it can handle a little higher ambient.
              Thanks for all your help.

                Re: GA-EX58-UD4P Settings Question

just wanted to add tht you can use balanced power saving profile in windows7 power options,it will do the same job as c1e, lower it at idle but not at load and it wont affect your overclock and stability but it will reduce idle temps alot

                  Re: GA-EX58-UD4P Settings Question

                  @LSDMEASAP

I am currently clocked at 4.20 GHz (21 x 200 BCLK), on air. Extremely stable, and low voltages/temps.

I am aware of a thread on another board (in which you are one of the participants), where peeps are modding the UD4P to be able to push the BCLK to ~235. See BCLK 235 / PCIe 130 with GIGABYTE MB - XtremeSystems Forums. Apparently, to be able to push the BCLK above 220, you need to also be able to increase the PCIe above 103 and, due to a defect in the board, you can only achieve that if you relocate a 1K resistor.

My question to you is whether this mod is valuable to someone cooling via air?? What is the practical advantage of upping the BCLK and lowering the multiplier (yes, it will up the clock rate of the RAM, and yes it will up the QPI link speed, even if the ultimate CPU speed is relatively unchanged).

I haven't tried to take the BCLK above 200, but it certainly appears that it can go somewhat higher, even with the present 21x multiplier (though I would be surprised if I could go above 4.4 GHz on air).

Another possible tweak to my current settings is to increase my Uncore multiplier from 16 to 18.

My current settings can be found at http://forums.tweaktown.com/gigabyte...tml#post362703

                  Comments? Thanks.

                    Re: GA-EX58-UD4P Settings Question

It works and is fairly hard to do, I was able to get 239 Bclk on dry ice, I think 229 on water - but not stable for daily use.

So valuable on air no, not really. I'd only advise it if you want to push on water or extreme cooling (Dry ice Ln2).

It's not worth the risk of you killing your board for a few more Bclks on air. With your temps and voltages you can probably do 210-220 without much hassle, if you wanted.

As you mentioned you would probably not be able to go past 4.4 or so meaning if you wanted higher Bclk you probably would need to lower the CPU multi to x19

Bclk isn't like FSB, so more doesn't really increase anything performance wise over user a higher Multiplier.

Higher uncore always helps, so yes increasing that would improve performance if you keep it stable.
