EP45 UD3P Bios settings for 8gb (4x2gb) PC-6400

Hi, I'm total newbie on first build (spec. below)

I'm at 'breadboarding' stage ATM, memtest86+'ing single sticks of ram.
Only have PSU, MB, CPU+HS, Vid card, monitor, KB & Mouse, and floppy drive (to run booted memtest...ie no HD or OS yet)) connected at present.

Assuming all four sticks of ram are ok, please can anyone suggest bios settings for when I put in all four sticks together? I've heard that dram voltage needs to be increased, and possibly NB, but can find nothing definitive for my particular kit.

Currently all bios settings on auto, except dram increase from 1.8v to 1.82v, as I read somewhere that for CL4 memory, this was necessary?

I don't want to OC (yet), -I just want a stable system at stock settings FTM. -but I'll be back in time, for OC'ing suggestions?

Also, have read somewhere that auto settings for CPU voltage tended to get set too high...what settings should I set?

will gladly supply any more info needed?

Any other help & suggestions very much appreciated?

If you're using 4x2GB of G.Skill F2-6400CL4D-4GBPI-B memory, it's rated at 1.8 - 1.9 volts. I suggest starting with 1.90 or 1.92 settings with 4 modules.

See this post for recommended initial bios settings.

MCH Core might work with AUTO (1.10 volts), but you might need to try 1.16 - 1.22, or 1.05.

If your system won't boot or fails Memtest86+ at 800MHz memory speeds, you might need to try initially running/testing your memory at 667 speeds by setting the System Memory Multiplier to 2.00B or 2.00D.

will try your suggestions when I'm done memtesting the individual sticks.
(am impatient to move on, but it's got to be done I suppose...just wish it didn't take so long...)

Meanwhile will follow your link for bios settings and try hard to learn & understand at least some of this stuff!

Thanks again; I realise it must be really tedious for all of you gurus to keep answering same old stuff from ignoranti like myself, -but it's really scary (but fascinating) for first timers when confronted with bios settings that have little or no meaning (yet), and so reassuring to have a helping hand...
