• Ga-p31-ds3l & 4gb ram

Hey everyone, I know that there's a thread about this issue - but I think a new thread is in order because my specs are different, either way a mod can merge this with the other topic if he pleases, I just want an answer :)

So here it goes, my specs are:
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E8400
Motherboard: GA-P31-DS3L
Memory: Corsair XMS2 PC-6400 (4x1GB) PDF
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce 9600GT 512MB
OS: Vista 32bit

I think that's all there is to know, if there's something more specific please let me know.

First of all, all 4 sticks are working properly.
It works fine with 2x1GB but it doesn't POST with 4x1GB, the PC looks like it's stuck in a loop.

I have tried setting voltages manually and all that jazz but I still can't make it to POST.

I'd appreciate any reply, thanks.

Re: Ga-p31-ds3l & 4gb ram

These settings should work for you. What BIOS are you using?

You may need to press the hotkey to see all settings. On the MAIN Page of the BIOS press Control + F1, then the screen will flash. Then go into MIT Section to see all settings.

Bold Blue Items are most important, others you may or may not set at first

Code:

CPU Clock Ratio ____________ [9]
Fine Clock Ratio ____________[0.0]

Re: Ga-p31-ds3l & 4gb ram

Thanks mate, I'll try it in a few and come back with the results :)
I'm using BIOS version F10A, to be honest I've no idea how because I didn't manually update the BIOS before, must be pre-installed on my board, I don't know! :)

There's just one question, in what increments do I change "Refresh to ACT Delay", well - didn't word it out the way I wanted to, but you should understand what I'm trying to say.
Thanks again.

Edit:
I've just given it a go and it didn't work :(
I've set it to the lowest possible setting you provided (like 3 when you write 3-4) except for Static tRead Value which was 9.
Testing all the possilibites would take ages :(

And one more thing, I have this additional setting called "CPU GTLREF Voltage Ratio" and it's default value is 0.636, is it worth changing ?
