i have a C2D 6300 with gigabyte ds4p motherboard.i read many reviews saying that the 6300 is an easy overclocker.i also have coolermaster hyper n520 cpu cooler.ram is corsair xms2 2gb 800MHZ+1 GB transcend 667MHZ.PSU is a corsair vx550w
recently i put my cpu on 2.3ghz with all other settings on auto including voltage.the comp ran stable.increased further to 2.5ghz.(358FSB*7).it booted.but then it crashed after 5mins in windows.
put the voltage on 1.4v and still it crashed.note that all other settings were on auto including ram.
so put my comp back to 2.3ghz.but yesterday evening it crashed at this setting also.so put the pro on stock values.
need some guidance for proper setup.during my oc temps were nearing 70c to 75c at 2.5ghz.i am suspecting improper thermal paste..can it be??
am i going wrong on ram settings??should i shift from auto to 2.00A?
here are my bios settings.all stock.BIOS VERSION F8

some inputs will be helpful.since even after aftermarket cooler cpu and mobo cant handle 2.3ghz also.proper settings will be helpful.
