I will be getting my UD3P later this week and looking to overclock my CPU. The reason I ordered the UD3P is because my current Asus P5B was severely lacking in tuning ability and had some annoying minor issues. So going from the P5B to the UD3P I noticed a LOT of settings in the BIOS that I'm not familiar with and need to know which ones to leave at auto/default/whatever and which ones I need to change.
My current configuration:
Asus P5B, Q9400, Xigmatek Dark Knight HSF, 2x2GB OCZ Titanium DDR2-800, nVidia 8600GTS w/factory OC, Antec Truepower 2.0 430.
Multiplier: 8x, FSB: 400MHz
Vcore: 1.3250v reported by CPU-Z as 1.280-1.296v idle and 1.212v under load
FSB Term: 1.4v, NB: 1.25v, SB: 1.5v, ICH: 1.057v
RAM: 1.85v, 4-4-4-15
I ran Prime95 blend for 25 hours before core 4 failed (lasted 3 hours on small afterwards) with the vcore set to 3.125v and RAM at 2.1v. I ran memtest for several hours with no errors at 1.85v then raised the vcore to 1.3250v and ran Prime95 for several hours error free. I stopped there because I had decided to order the UD3P and these numbers may not mean much with a new motherboard.
Can someone give me a good starting point with the UD3P?
