I can't use sleep mode anymore because I'm OCed to 3.95GHz 24-7. (w00t!)And if I walk away from my PC for more than 1 1/2 to 3 hours I'd like it to shutdown for peace of mind.

Any suggestions on a good replacement for sleep mode?

I've already searched for Vista Side Bar Gadgets that would Auto-Shutdown and didn't see anything that was the least bit attractive. And all the reviews of what I did find, well, kind of sucked.

    Thanks!

What do you mean by sleep mode exactly? The start > power symbol mode? If that doesn't work when you're overclcokcing then it's usually a sign that your overclock is not 100% stable, try tweaking the voltages a little more.

I've never had a problem at less than 3.8GH with Sleep Mode. It's only around 3.85GHz and especially at 3.95+GHz the trouble begins. I can't imagine how anyone could hope for Sleep Mode to function as flawlessly as it does when running less than 3.8GHz. I just feel like its asking way too much for an E8400 to sleep and resume at such high speeds. And recommending that such drastic OCing include disabling Sleep Mode... and simply turning the PC on, and turning the PC off... seems like the logical thing to do. But if anyone has been successful, with sleep mode working flawlessly with an E8400 @3.95+GHz... I'd luv to see their BIOS templates. ;)

      Edit:

And what I meant by Sleep Mode is the ability to have the PC sleep when not in use for a predetermined number of minuets, and then resume or wake up with a slight movement of the mouse or tapping the keyboard. (Or with a Media Center Remote control.)

Now that my better PC is for games only and another one right next to it does everything else including Media Center, I really don't miss sleep mode.
