  • GA-X58-UD3R temps

    Hi

I am running a i7 920 at stock and with power management running to reduce voltages and temps etc etc but i think my temps are to high for a water cooled system

CPU is 41-38-41-39, cpu voltage is 1.04
    NB IS 65

This is with cpu running at 1600mhz after energysaver prog kicks in. I have reseated the waterblock several times but still no joy

Are these temps normal for a I7 920 without any overclocking? or is there something wrong.

    thx in advance
    Griff

    Re: GA-X58-UD3R temps

That does sound warm for stock, but load is what you need to worry about.

Can you tell me more about your cooling setup, like what blocks you use, what rad, what thermal paste, and do you have the NB under water as well? Have you tried reseating the CPU Block a few times? You sure you are not using too much paste?

    What is your ambient?

What voltages are you using? Give me your full settings and I can better see why you may be seeing such high temps >>>

      Re: GA-X58-UD3R temps

      Hi
After reseating the waterblock and applying the arctic silver 5 as per instructions from arctic silver website I now have temps of 38-34-37-35 @ 3.40 mhz. Under load using everest stress test they go up to 57-53-54-54. My northbridge is showing between 55 and 60 degrees...is this to hot. Below are my settings

        Re: GA-X58-UD3R temps

Please set this to 100 >>
        PCI Express Frequency (MHz) ........... [100] << 100

Those temps sound much better. Yes NB for X58 is warmer then P35/45 so that is normal

Nothing in your settings looks to be set to high voltage wise so I think you should be good as far as temps go now that you have reseat your block. After a week or so they should go down some since you use Arctic Silver

I'd need a link to your ram if you would like some full settings suggestions, but you can set these for sure without me knowing your ram info >>

        QPI Link Speed .............................. x36
Uncore Frequency .......................... x20-21 (Always 2x ram Multi or 2x+1)

          Re: GA-X58-UD3R temps

thanks for that mate. My memory is Kingston HyperX 6GB (3x2GB) Intel XMP DDR3 12800C9 1600MHz Tri-Channel Kit

will set the settings in bios you have suggested. :)
