  • GA-P35C-DS3R BSOD Issue

    This is my system config

Intel Core 2 Quad Q9450 Processor

    Gigabyte GA-EP35C-DS3R Motherboard

    1 GB * 4 = DDR2 667 MHz RAM

    XFX nVIDIA 6200 GPU - 64 MB

    80 GB Seagate SATA HDD

    650W Antec Trio SMPS

    Cooler Master CM690 Cabinet

2 x 120 MM Fans in the Cabinet for superior Air Circulation.

OS - Windows Vista Service Pack 1 32-Bit

My system works fine but suddenly it blue screens with the error which has been attached.

I have checked the Hard Disks for Bad Sectors and for bad RAM sticks.
Both have produced negative results as RAM and Disk have reported no problems.

The CPU and Motherboard Temperature at full load are 37 Degree Celsius and 55 degree Celsius respectively.

Please advise me as to what could be the problem.

          Re: GA-P35C-DS3R BSOD Issue

More Vcore means you need to set More CPU Vcore voltage in the BIOS.

And what I meant by the rest was I need you to give me all your settings in the above table from your MIT Section of your BIOS, then I can advise back on what settings you should use.

And I also do advise you update your BIOS using Qflash, here is a Guide >>

Are you using F10 or F4a? I advise you update to F10 as it is the latest, but I ask because you have said you are using both on this thread so I am not sure? Here is your BIOS page >>

I do not see the post has been edited, are you sure you have done what you said?

I just downloaded the file, it is not what I need anyway.

All I need is your settings from the MIT Section of your BIOS, then I will advise changes for you to set back. You will have to manually write them down and then input them into the above template

                    Re: GA-P35C-DS3R BSOD Issue

Are you sure you downloaded the correct BIOS per your boards model and Revision? Like I said you mentioned two BIOS's you was using, please look in the corner of your board under the PCI Slots and check the board Revision, then grab the correct BIOS file per your boards revision.

You still never answered me about what BIOS you are actually using now, please check and let me know. You can find out in CPU-z in the mainboard tab.

Did you extract the file from the exe?

                    You are using Qflash correct?

Did you extract the file from the exe?

Yes buddy I did and found this file - p35cds3r.f10 which I loaded to the USB Pen Drive which I formatted as FAT32.

The drive was detected in the BIOS but finally it shows this error.

                      You are using Qflash correct?

                      Yup

I will try again and revert tomorrow.

                        Re: GA-P35C-DS3R BSOD Issue

Ahh, You may need to flash F10 from DOS then as F4a may have a older Qflash that is not compatible with the new file formats.

Do you have a floppy installed? If not, can you install one? If so, just copy all three files onto t a floppy and boot to the floppy and flash from there.

If you do not have a floppy you will need to either do it to ways. @BIOS, which I do not suggest, or get a bootable CD Such as Ultimate BootCD and run DOS and from there flash with the batch file included with the download.

If you need more help let me know. And sorry for asking that again, I just wanted to be sure I was not doubting you at all, just checking

                          Re: GA-P35C-DS3R BSOD Issue

Please find the details in the attachment below.

Also, I tried to update the BIOS using DOS.

However I got the error that the BIOS versions were different, hence the utility could not proceed to update the BIOS.

Any ideas as to what could be the problem ?

                              Re: GA-P35C-DS3R BSOD Issue

is that the latest @BIOS? I suggest DOS though, but just wondering. Here is the latest Version of Qflash, but I do suggest DOS using the normal method or see my thoughts below about a mid way BIOS and or FlashSPI >>

                              Version 2.05
                              GIGABYTE - Support&Download - Motherboard - Utility

You could use flashSPI if you are SURE you have the correct version for your board. You can get that program here, it would be used in DOS, it will tell you incorrect version as well maybe just accept and say yes >>

                              FlashSPI
                              FlashSPI.zip

Use it the same as SPIFlash, example
                              A:>Flashspi.exe p35cds3r.f10

You may need to rename the BIOS file to .bin, but I do not think so

Another thing you could do is try flashing a middle BIOS, like maybe F6-F9 and then if one of those work you should be able to then flash from DOS without issue
