    and system won't boot

when memory timings are on auto - systems boots up, cpu-z shows timings 10-9-9-25 which are little to high I guess

              Re: i7 gigabyte ud5 - oc settings - help

I noticed some stability problems with configuration below. Experienced several freezes, for example during video compression.

Is it possible to change only memory frequency by lowering system memory multiplier and leaving other settings as they are?

I feel that memory is causing problems and do not actually need them to work as 1600 mhz.

                  Re: i7 gigabyte ud5 - oc settings - help

hi, i'm very new at overclocking (actually never done it before).

                  i have a UD5 mobo, F10 bios, i7-920 CPU, a very large heatsink (ultra-120 extreme), and corsair dominator ram 3x2GB TR3X6G1600C8D G
This memory has been verified to operate at 1600MHz at latencies of 8-8-8-24 at 1.65V VDIMM.
can anyone help me figure out two things:

                  1. what settings i should use for overclocking (it's at 2.8GHz with the built in "extreme" setting)

                  2. how can i get the fans to automatically speed up/slow down based on temperatures? i'm trying to use speedfan but it's not doing anything

                  thanks very much!

is that relevant with my RAM? or do i need to change anything?
