Hi,
just joined the forum. I'm setting up n HTMC with:
ga-ma78gpm-ud2h
AMD|A64 X2 4850E 2.5G AM2
GIGABYTE GA-MA78GPM-UD2H AM2
2Gx2|OCZ OCZ2G10664GK

to primarily run Boxee on Ubuntu 8.10 and everything went sweet until no audio through HDMI. according to the Gigabyte downloads, no drivers seem available for linux. Help!! what do I do (other than go through?

I have limited knowledge of AMD System, so I can't really offer any good advice. But what I can say is Ubuntu Forums are great, they can likely point you to the correct driver or method to get your current drivers working >>>

This Motherboard does not support audio over HDMI (nor do any other AMD boards at this stage). It is necessary to use optical or coax cable.

I stand corrected. Looking at the manual it does indeed state that audio over hdmi is available (despite the GB website stating video only).

I will report back when I've got it up and running.
