clear cmos

im new to building gamers,and just got my first one done.

my operating system will be here tommorow.

after getting my new build together i messed around in bios and somehow saved a second bios that i dont want in there.

here is my system parts list
antec 1200-7 120 fans
core i7 920
gigabyte UD5
cooler master v10
6gb g-skill 1600 (3x2)
wd 1t drive
sapphire 4870
sound blaster
coolmax 1200w psu
windows vista 64-bit will be here tommorow

my board has a clear cmos button on it at the back of my case where everthing hooks up

can i just press this button and hold it for about 10 seconds while the power is on to reset my bios to factory setting,and then load optimized defaults?
will this get that second bios settup out of there and let me start over after i load windows vista.(i want to load my operating system and drivers before i make any changes to my bios so i want to reset)

I wouldnt go F**ting around trying to clear cmos while the pc is turned on.Why would you want to?
Sounds like this button is more for use instead of jumper/battery short to save you poking around inside the case(when the pc is off)

You can always replace the unwanted bios profile with a newer profile at any time. All you have to do at the saved bios profile screen is to highlight the unwanted profile, type in a new profile name (for the current bios settings) and press the ENTER key. You'll be prompted to overwrite the existing bios. On my UD3P, the default is YES to overwrite.

I suggest that you periodically save your collective bios profiles to the root folder of your boot drive. The name of the saved file is limited to 8 characters, and the file extension should be .Fxx, where xx is the version of the bios that you are saving. I also save a copy of the original bios file. In My case, this would be EP45UDP3.F6

This has saved my bacon several times with other Gigabyte motherboards.
