    I am new to building computers. I selected the EP45-DS3L as on insanely mac it is reported as a stable motherboard for installing as a dual boot Hackintosh. I have had nothing but trouble trying to get my system up in Vista. The BIOS is very confusing. Listed below is my specifications. Please help me in configuring my system.

    Gigabyte EP45-DS3L rev 1.0
    Corsair CM2X2048-8500C5 5-5-5-15 X 2 (IE 4X2 FOR 8 GB total)
    Intel Core2Quad Q9650 retail box with Intel Cooler
    EVGA 9800 GT 1 GB DDR3
    LG H22NS30 22X SATA DVD Burner X 2
    Seagate Barracuda 7200.11 ST31500341AS 1.5 TB
    RaidMax KY-520ATX 420W ATX12V Power Supply
    Vista Ultimate 64

    Runnign the RAM at 1066 with 4 DIMMs is really putting a lot of stress on the board and requires tweaking. This may well be what's causing your problem. It would be a good idea to tell us the "symptoms" though, it's kind of hard to diagnose without knowing any symptoms...
    My guess is that this is the RAM, to confirm this you can boot of the Vista DVD, but not run the setup but use TAB to select Windows Memory Diagnostic. If you get erros there then you have a RAM problem.
    You can try to just run the RAM at 800MHz, to do this go into the BIOS and M.I.T. and siable X.M.P. then set the system memory multiplier to 2.0B.
