965P DS3 FSB Prob

Hi there this is my set up

Vista Ultimate
Mobo ( As Above ) Bios F13
CPU : P4 661 3.60MHZ
Kingston Paired 800MHZ 2x 1Gig STicks
ATI 3650

Right all this was new when I first booted up all went ok but in the bios under M I T The multiplier was at x18 which I think is normall and the CPU Frequenzy was at 200mhz.
But when I tried to up the FSB it wouldn't let me.

Any Suggestions much appreciated.
P.S The ctrl + F1 dosen't make any difference.

what you mean by "wouldnt let you"? You cant increase it over 200MHZ? it doesnt POST over stock speeds?

Its probably at its limits anyway...OC'ing with an old skool P4 isnt a good idea.

To really see if you cant go over 200, lower the multiplier to anything below 18x and see if you can up the FSB to 205.

As said above, what do you mean by "Wouldn't let you"?

You should first Load optimized defaults if you have not already, this applies some hidden settings per your hardware, and all visible stock settings will be set as well.

Yes, the default CPU Multi is 18 for that CPU.


More info is needed about what you meant. If you think you need help with your MIT Settings please post me a link to your memory or the model # and then give me the settings you are trying that fail. And please let us know what BIOS version are you using as well. >>>
