  • GigaByte GA-EX58-UD3 Not booting

I have built a computer with the above motherboard using a i7 920, 3gb of ram, xfx nvidia 9600xt and 750w silent power supply.

The computer worked fine for a week when it just shut down randomly one day and refused to reboot, just a few led's flashing and fans spinning for a sec and then nothing, after leaving it unplugged for a few hours it booted again i updated to latest bios F4 and it continued to work fine for a few hours before it started to reboot itself constantly and evently stopped booting.

Now i just get a quick led flash when pressing the power button and then nothing, pressing power button again does nothing, if i switch of the psu and then on again pressing the power button again just flashes the led's once and then nothing.

Any Idea's what could be wrong?

    Thanks

What brand is the "750W silent power supply"? Cheap PSUs are one of the most common causes of this kind of behaviour.
Also check the link in my sig, try the things in there and see if that helps.

50 Bucks says you have a dead PSU. I had the exact same problem once.

I would get a decent PSU to run with your system. Dont cheap out now.

Generic Brand name?...... a PSU for $40?

Wow, no offense meant but what made you decide to purchase that? A cheap PSU is something you never want to put into your $1000 machine. Your PSU is the MOST important part of your setup, as said above something to never buy cheap

Please do try to borrow a better PSU to test if you can, but DO NOT Try that PSU in another system because if it is faulty it could damage the next system you try it in as well. Hope your setup is all ok if it indeed was the PSU that died
