Bilbat over at the Tom's Hardware forums suggested this was good place for Gigabyte-related questions, so I hope you can help me out!
I have recently purchased this motherboard and CPU. Having installed everything, the machine fails to POST. I removed everything except power supply, CPU, and CPU fan and PC Speaker (to listen for POST errors). Still nothing.
I tried a different power supply. I tried resetting the CMOS by shorting the appropriate jumpers. Still the same thing - power supply and CPU fans spin, but nothing else happens. I even removed the mobo from the case and set it on a wooden surface to ensure no shorting problems.
I notice that the 5050e doesn't show up as a supported CPU for this mobo, but I've found some forum posts suggesting that at least some people have this combo working. Google also shows the 5050e as being included on the CPU support list at gigabyte.com.tw. If I look at the HTML, it appears that the 5050e is "under testing".
Can anyone confirm that the 5050e does or does not work with the GA-M78SM-S2H? Any suggestions on a course of action?
