  • S1283 hsf

I just installed the Xigmatek S 1283 on my GA-P35-DS3R

The fan is not spinning and I'm wondering if it won't kick it until it reaches a certain temp. According to CoreTemp, my idle temp is around 22-23 C, and at load (well, while playing GTA4, it goes up to about 38-39 C. I plugged the 4 pin connector into the 4 pin receiver on the mobo. The fan never engages. Bad fan? Bad install? Ideas?

    update

the fan that came with the S 1283 is not faulty. i plugged in to the front system fan and upon start up it fired up right away.

i also checked the old HSF (stock intel unit) and it used the same 4 pin connector as the new HSF. i have not altered any BIOS settings.

any suggestions would be much appreciated.

im guessing it doesn t spin because the temperature isnt sufficiently high enough for the fan to spin at all, my friend's AC freezer extreme doesnt spin until the cpu gets to arund 40-50C.

Dont worry, its probably designed like that, see if u can increase the temperature somehow to 50C.
