  • GBT motherboards and RAM makes that work

Encouraged by Powergiga I'd like to start a new thread providing informations regarding working setups of Gigabyte motherboards and RAM kits to help ppl make good choices.

In order to avoid possible misunderstandings please post exact P/Ns of respective parts. Please provide also your CPU model and an information whether you have to do anything in bios in order to make the ram work.

    My setup:

    GA-EP45-UD3R rev. 1.0 bios F6 (Auto settings)
    Mushkin 996640 2x2GB 800MHz 4-4-4-12 @ Auto (5-5-5-15, 1,80V)
    E8400 rev. C0 @ stock

    my setup

    GA-UD3R rev 1.1 bios F6 (Auto settings)

    C2D E7200@ 9.5X380 = 3.61ghz

    G.SKILL PI BLK 2x2GB DDR2 800 1.8-1.9v CL4 (4.4.4.12[SIZE=2]) @ 5-5-5-15.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231209 , one of best ram out there that works for both UD3P/R no questions asked, just pop and go.

BTW, stay away from OCZ and with 8GB-16GB will not work when install rams on board, hey I don't blame to all users but blame to GIGABYTE !.

Hey this is a good thread to start as I was stressing when I got my new GA-X48-DS5 as to weather my ram would work ok. but it seems NOW that it does. Corsair TWIN2X4096-6400C5 4GB (2x XMS2 2GB) PC-6400 (800MHz) DDR is the stuff and im running 4Gb at just a bump above standard volts. I havent even tried running it at 1.8 stock yet, but when I tweak my overclock next weekend I will lower some volts to see what the best settings are.
