general oc questions

im starting to think about overclocking my system and had some general questions.

is real temp the preferred monitoring software? use the 95 Tjmax or change it? should it be calibrated?

should i use et6 to calibrate real temp and adjust voltages or strictly bios?

should i flash to a different bios?


any input is welcome. ive run through the stickies and a lot of the oc posts, but im not looking to see how far i can go, just shooting for 410x8.5 and drop my memory multiplier to 2.6 to maintain 1066 settings

Well If you google the Tjmax of the q9550 there are a lot of confusing statments is it 100? is it 95? Just download realtemp 3.0 and everest 5 and see what the temps say in them. If they are the same with realtemp on 95 then all is good, if not adjust.
