EP45-DS3L freezes on stock settings unless I have DES running!

Hey all,

I have this odd problem where my computer will freeze randomly within 5 minutes, unless I have Dynamic Energy Saver running... it's a Gigabyte EP45-DS3L updated to newest firmware, a Intel Core2Duo E7300, and my memory is 2X1Gb OCZ PC2-6400 memory

I have the same response on both fail-safe and optimized settings, and I already have tried this on a fresh install of XP and Vista - both will crash unless I have DES running!

So in vista, in the power options, select "power saver", then disable DES. If it doesnt crash it means that your computer is not stable. What is making it stable is the reduced clocks at idle with DES.

So that means you will need to tweak your settings to get it stable and the normal clock speeds. You can test stability with Prime 95/OCCT/Memtest/Linpack

You prob need to raise your DRAM voltage to the memory specs which is 1.95v-2.1V

Also may try disable "USB legacy support"

Also i hope your cpu Vcore is a typo?? should prob be 1.225v, not 2.225v

Could be also something related with CPU temperature, did you already measured it? With DES on, the CPU temp do not rise up so no issue appear.

Already looked at that, it's running around 50 degrees without the program, so it's not running too hot
