easytunepro 5 not showing correct speed on a q6600

Hey i just bought a q6600 cpu.

easytune thinks its running at 1600mhz at some points and 2400mhz at others.

is this normal?

when i got in windows/vista and go into system it shows it as a quad core running at 2.4ghz

should i just ignore easytune?

im not trying to OC it or anything right now I just was using it to monitor heat.

Did you install Dynamic Energy Saver and or do your Intel Speed step or C1E enabled in the bios? If so the processor is being throttled to save power. Use Everest Ultimate to find out the correct processor info.

it does say n the easy tune. Ratio of 9
which 9x1600mhz comes around 2.4ghz

is that ok?

That sounds right even though I don't recall easy tuner 6 showing the cpu in the way you just described. If you can take a screen shot. Also if in doubt just download Everest free edition and it will confirm the core and its full speed.
