Hello everyone,
I am on here to try and get some help with a new build I have done and I am having some issues with it.
It is as follows
Gigabyte EP45-DS5
Intel E8400
4GB DDR2 800
9500GT
1 x 500GB Seagate SATA drive (for OS and program installs)
1 x 1TB WD SATAdrive for data storage
5 x Asus 20B1LT drives
As you can see I have 7 drives (and looking at maybe more) So I cannot fit all the drives onto the one sata controller on the motherboard, which is also why I used this board. When I have the 500G and all 5 DVD drives plugged into the Intel Sata controller, everything works fine, when anything is plugged into the gigaRAID ports, nothing is detected, this includes 2 DVD drives, and DVD drives, and HDD's, 2 of the same HDD (other ones I used for testing). even when nothing is plugged into the Intel controller, i get nothing. I have looked through the BIOS, with no love there.
I also managed to try my set up on another EP45-DS5 board and i got the exact same results. I would really doubt that i tested on 2 dud boards.
Is there a trick to getting the GA RAID ports to detect anything??
Thanks
Josh
