  • P45 UD3P - Large RAM Problem

    Hallo,

    first sorry for my bad english.
    I have an large Problem with my P45 UD3P and the Corsair Dominator 2x2048MB DDR 1066 5/5/5/15, the CPU is a Q9550 E0.

    When i set everything to DEFAULT (FSB333x8,5, DDR1066) i can boot and everything is fine. Even DDR 1080 is no Problem.

    But when i raise the MCH-Core Voltage over 1,2V the Board loop in Reboots. I must turn down FSB to 325 (DDR 1040), then i can boot.

    I need higher MCH-Core Voltage then 1,2V for my Quad at higher FSB, but then i cant run DDR 1066or higher!
    (For Example FSB 445 and 2.4B=1066 -> not possible over 1,2V MCH
    FSB 433 and 2.4B=1040 -> possible with 1,2-1,4V)

    What is the Problem, is the Board damaged or the RAM incompatible?

    Bios is F7, i tried everything, even lower Timings, but this could not be the Reason, because the Board boots DDR 1066 or even higher with MCH<1,2V, but when i set MCH>1,2V, there is no way.

    Please help me,

    Thanks

    Re: P45 UD3P - Large RAM Problem

    No on an idea?
    Can somebody with 2x2048MB DDR 1066 test if booting is possible with MCH 1,3V?

      Re: P45 UD3P - Large RAM Problem

      I've got similar hardware as you, no overclock on my q9550 and have gone as high as 1.24V MCH Core with 1066 DDR2 with nothing but reboot loops.

        It means you have the same Problem, over 1,24MCH Voltage you got Reboot-Loops?
        What Memory you use?

          Could be ram incompatible ?, That brand Corsair Dominator might be picky on your UD3P, try use different brand for 2x2GB pop in and see what happen.

          Go for G.Skill

            Re: P45 UD3P - Large RAM Problem

            The Memory is offical supported:

            I have no other modules for testing, but i think, its a general problem, Gigabyte has massive problems running 2x2048MB DDR 1066 stable on the UD3P.

            With my P35DS4 i can run the memory with DDR 1100 on every possible MCH-Voltage.

                  FSB 338 - 3.2B DDR 1080 - MCH 1,2V ->RUN
                  FSB 333 - 3.2B DDR 1066 - MCH 1,22V and higher- Bootloop
                  FSB 325 - 3.2B DDR 1042 - MCH 1,3V -> RUN
                  FSB 326 - 3.2B DDR 1044 - MCH 1,3V -> Bootloop

                  The same with 2.4B:

                  FSB 445 - 2.4B DDR 1066- MCH 1,3 -> Bootloop
                  FSB 433 - 2.4B DDR 1042 - MCH 1,3V -> RUN
                  FSB 434 - 2.4B DDR 1044 - MCH 1,3V -> Bootloop

                          With my setup (see signature), MCH voltage settings are NOT a problem when using the 2.00(B) strap. I've gone as high as 1.32 volts, but my best results are with MCH set at 1.22 - 1.26 volts.

                          I've successfully run & stress tested with the 2.40(B) strap:
                          bus clock = 457
                          memory @ 1097 (2.4x457)
                          MCH =1.24
                          tRD=8
                          tRFC=62 (intentionally loose)

                          The remainder of the bios settings closely follow LSDMEASAP's recommendations.
                          Apparently he's not always right, but he's never wrong.

                            I figured I would give this a bump since I also have the same problem with the 2.40b strap not booting above 434fsb.

                              Can you give a little more information? Can't really help you without knowing your hardware and your other settings. Does a higher MCH Core voltage also cause instability for you?
