    build
    Rosewill case
    GIGABYTE GA-EP45-UD3R
    EVGA GeForce 9500 GT 1GB
Intel E8500 Wolfdale 3.16 (junk manf cpu fan for now)
    OCZ Platinum 4GB (2 x 2GB) DDR2
    Seagate 500gb sata 3gb/s
    HP dvd1070i

after putting it together does not post, all phase leds are on, no sound from speaker case fan goes, but the cpu fan tries or moves very little and stops. heat sink does not get hot. the last time i put a build together was 1998, so would it be odd for the new mbs to stop if the fan is dead or is this more likely an issue of the cpu being DOA...

have striped the system down to just the CPU, mem, and MBM

    thanks

    Re: new build issues

Do u have another PSU to try? Are you using an 8pin MB CPU Power Connector thing. I dont know how much power the 9500GT Card draws but Id say you would be pushing your limit with only 450watt? Maybe? I dont know. ID try and get a hold of another (bigger) PSU and try that before anything?

        Re: new build issues

Just for ****s and giggles plug the CPU fan into the system fan plug and see if the fan itself is working. I doubt that will be the problem though, Have you tried reversing the speaker connections on the mb they possible could be around the wrong way? You will need to get another PSU to do any further testing i reakon and or another Graphics card to see if possible ur system just doesnt like the one u have got. But my money is on a dead motherboard or PSU. Thank me later.

1 stick on mem only, in the 1st slot next to cpu. Try each one individually.

                Re: new build issues

Well That will be a good start, Make sure you get one with a bit higher wattage, go a 600 or something more maybe so in the future when u upgrade ur graphics card you dont have to worry about a PSU. But I Dont know im leaning towards dead motherboard. This is a new board you say? Never had it going anywhere else? Did you try the fan in the system fan plug and see if it is maybe a dead fan, but that wouldnt explain the other issues. you would thing ud get something for a little while atleast.
