Here is newegg's area for heatsinks: Newegg.com - Fan&Heatsinks, CPU Fans & Heatsinks, Fans & Heatsinks, Computer Hardware

Scythe, Arctic Cooling, OCZ and Thermaltake are some good choices.

Yep I vote for the Xigmatek S1283 also as its the best bang for the buck heatsink period.

I just put the retention bracket on mine and its all good, as those pushpins suck

see i was debating on the
          Newegg.com - XIGMATEK HDT-SD964 92mm Rifle CPU Cooler - CPU Fans & Heatsinks
          or
          Newegg.com - XIGMATEK HDT-S1283 120mm Rifle CPU Cooler - CPU Fans & Heatsinks
          or
          Newegg.com - XIGMATEK HDT-S963 92mm Rifle CPU Cooler - CPU Fans & Heatsinks
the last one here what is a xigmatek(all of them are) i was looking at big time. it is cheap and smaller in size but unknown if it is good enough for o/cing like the 120mm ones.

Re: ga ep45 ud3p fan and heatsink

If you wait till that S1283 doesnt come with a USB cable then it will be cheaper and/or have free shipping. Or get it from microcenter now.

            Since you have a Q6600 deff get a 120mm version, S1283

i wont be ordering anything til the 1st of feb. just trying to get an idea on what i want.

what would be s good case (size wise) to look for if i go with the 120mm version of hsf? i hear alot of people have that problem (too small of a case depth wise)

i also noticed the one on micro center is different then the one at newegg. air flow wise.newegg read (72.1-99.c cfm) microcenter 56.3cfm i better hit the xigmatek site to see what is what

I believe they are the same cooler, don't know about reason for different specs. You want a case at least 8" wide. I know an Antec 300 will hold it.

Just watch it every couple days when your ready to buy it as if you have a month to look around before buying you'll get a better price as the prices change weekly if not more frequently.

The S1283 comes with a ~56CFM fan AFAIK. The other models can have a higher CFM fan w/ the same heatsink and cost more.

If the picture shows that black fan then its ~56cfm fan. The red fan or another is the one that has more CFM I think. Check Xiggy's website to be sure as vendors often have misquoted specs here and there.
