EP45 Extreme wont overclock at all

Hi,

I'm having a problem with overclocking this motherboard. When I change any settings in the MIT menu it doesnt seem to take effect.

When I reboot the Bios screen shows the cpu at stock settings, as though I havent made any overclock at all. Returning to the MIT screen shows my setting changes are all still there, they just arent being put into effect. Even a tiny change like increasing fsb from the 333 default to 340 makes no difference.

For the record I'm using a Q9550 with 6gb of OCZ ddr2-800 ram.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Are you seeing a Red Warning box when you go back into the MIT Section?

If you are you have something set wrong causing stock settings to be reloaded

If the above is not the case, please give me your settings you are using that fail to apply and I will advise back. Please also do link to your ram >>>>

Thanks for replying, I seem to have fixed the issue though.

I disconnected the main power cable, and reseated all of the power cables and memory modules. I was originally using two different sets of RAM, 2x2gb corsair dominator 8500 (TWIN2X4096-8500C5DF) and 2x1gbOCZ DDR2 PC2-6400 Platinum Revision 2 Dual Channel.

I tried with just the Corsair first and it seemed to work. After booting successfully with the corsair I put the OCZ back in and it all seems fine now. I'm running the CPU at 3.4ghz (8.5 x 400) and the memory at "D" 2.00.
